Welcome to Half & Half, the restaurant-bar of the BX Downtown Hostel! A place to meet and share, inspired by Belgian authenticity, where generosity and conviviality are to be found both on the plate and in the atmosphere. We're getting ready to open our doors this summer, and we're looking for a passionate Restaurant Manager to pilot this culinary adventure with us!
Our challenge to you:
As Restaurant Manager, you'll be the conductor of the Half & Half orchestra. You'll work closely with the restaurant's management, who will be your main contact to support you and help you meet this ambitious challenge. Together, you will build a strong dynamic to offer a fluid and unforgettable experience to our internal and external customers.
Responsible for the smooth running of operations, you'll ensure that every service is a memorable experience. You'll help set up the project and manage the day-to-day running of the restaurant, combining dynamism, creativity and rigor.
Your main tasks:
Operational & strategic management
Refining the concept and marketing
Manage the pre-opening and ensure the smooth running of the restaurant from the moment it opens
Set up processes and tools to ensure smooth, efficient management
Supervise cash flow, ensure administrative management and optimize resources
Ensure proper application of quality and hygiene methods and procedures
Work in synergy with the hostel to offer a coherent and harmonious experience to customers
Financial & administrative management
Ensuring a warm and friendly welcome and impeccable service
Anticipating customer expectations and adapting our offering to meet them even better
Ensure proactive management of customer returns and implement continuous improvement actions
Management & team building
Recruiting, training and managing a motivated and committed team
Develop field management based on human values, benevolence and excellence
Create a strong, inspiring team spirit, where everyone finds their place and flourishes
Liaise between management and the team with diplomacy and transparency, to ensure smooth communication and a positive working environment.
Financial & administrative management
Ensure the restaurant's profitability by optimizing costs and monitoring performance indicators
Manage purchasing, inventory and negotiate with suppliers to ensure consistent quality
Comply with current health and safety standards
Development & innovation
Contribute to the development of the menu with the head chef and the promotion of local and seasonal products.
Organize events, collaborations and activities to revitalize the site
Monitor trends and adapt our offer to remain relevant at all times
Your profile
We're looking for a dynamic person with a passion for food and human contact. We're looking for someone who takesinitiative, enjoys a challenge and finds energy in a fast-paced environment.
You have proven experience (minimum 3 years) in restaurant management or in managing a restaurant team.
You have an eye for detail, you're organized, and you think ahead so that nothing goes to waste.
You're a hands-on person and participative management is part of your DNA.
You're comfortable with figures and administrative aspects
You have a keen sense of customer service and experience
You have excellent organizational skills and rigorous management of priorities.
You are autonomous and proactive
You are fluent in French or Dutch and English (knowledge of other languages is a plus).
