Charleroi

City

Charleroi, the biggest city in the Province of Hainaut and capital of the Pays Noir, is famous for its miners who went on strike over working conditions. The city’s industrial past makes it a moving, intriguing place. And it’s enjoying something of a renaissance. It’s a vibrant, up-and-coming city just 10 km from Brussels South Charleroi Airport (served mainly by Ryanair) and only 1 hour from Brussels.
