Did you know that May is the month of play? It's the perfect opportunity to (re)discover how essential board games are for all ages, and especially at our Youth Hostels, which are true meeting and accommodation centers (HACs).
A board game is much more than a simple moment of relaxation. It stimulates the imagination, calls for listening, observation and concentration, while encouraging cooperation, respect and living together. Above all, it's a great way to share good times.
Did you know that the right to play is one of the fundamental rights of the child? We're firm believers. For us, play means learning, discovering, dreaming - and, above all, connecting with others.
Youth Hostels are much more than a place to sleep. It's a lively, welcoming and open space, where games become a real pretext for bonding. Around a board, barriers come down: regardless of language, age or origin, everyone can play - and above all have fun together.
In all our hostels, you'll find a generously-stocked games library, with free access for everyone: travelers just passing through, locals, the curious and inveterate gamers.
Whether you're a fan of atmospheric, strategy, puzzle or cooperative games, you'll be spoilt for choice.
And to take things even further, game nights, various tournaments and lots of other fun events are organized on a regular basis! Travelers and neighbors, young and old, these events are open to all. The aim? Share a simple, joyful moment, and meet new people.
Offering these play areas is in line with what we're all about: a network that promotes encounters, conviviality and social and cultural diversity. Play is a fantastic tool for this: it brings people together, breaks down barriers and gives everyone a place at the table.
How about a game?
