This Saturday, June 21, 2025, on the occasion of the Fêtes de la Musique, the courtyard of thehostel de Jeunesse de Liège was transformed into an open stage for the grand finale of the "Auberges en Scène" competition, in partnership with Jeunesses Musicales. It was a powerful, moving and vibrant moment, bringing to a close several months of an unprecedented cultural project supported by the network of youth hostels in the Wallonia-Brussels Federation.
Launched at the beginning of the year, Auberges en Scène had a simple but ambitious objective: to offer a stage to young artists from the Wallonia-Brussels Federation. Through several stages organized in different hostels, young musicians were given the opportunity to perform live, in front of an audience and a jury, in venues that promote openness, encounters and inclusion.
These local selections resulted in the selection of seven finalists, who met up in Liège for a final round of benevolence, creativity and sharing.
Under clear skies and in a festive atmosphere, five artists (some finalists were unable to attend) took to the stage one after the other. Their performances were sincere, touching, full of emotion and, above all, passion.
We heard francophone pop, electro jazz, poetic rock, melancholy R'n'B, politically committed songs... In short, a great musical diversity, reflecting this young generation of artists in search of meaning and a stage.
In the end, it was Charlotte de Halleux who won over both jury and audience, taking both prizes for the evening. A multi-talented artist, actress, singer and songwriter, Charlotte had been selected during theGénération Europe stage at theBrusselshostel . With her assertive lyrics, powerful voice and dazzling stage presence, she created a real moment of communion.
Second place went to Marion, another singular artist with a delicate yet powerful universe.

But beyond the rankings, it was the whole experience that left its mark: the exchanges between artists, the energy of the audience, the shared emotion. All the finalists left with memories, visibility and sometimes even new collaborations in mind.

This first edition of Auberges en Scène proved that there is a real thirst for culture, expression and encounters in our collective living spaces. Above all, it showed how hostels can be more than just places to stay: they can be real meeting places, lively cultural spaces open to their neighborhoods and the world.
